A Little about me…
I am a mother, wife, animal lover, home gardener(flower and vegetable), seeker of knowledge, and avid reader.
Where did the idea of a blog come from?
A year ago I got my first flock as an adult and even though I have had chicken since the age of seven I am the type of person how always researches a refresher. And yes I know I had spent four years in University raise both layer and broilers but this would be the first time I have to choose a coop etc. After reading almost every blog and article I could find I realized I had the knowledge and the tricks to help others on their journey to having a happy flock. But most of all it comes from a crazy idea, a husband and friend that said go for it. So here we are with the hope to help others.
What does the word chickens mean to me?
Chicken…a word that means many things; Food, livestock, pet, profit, or just life to name a few. I Know I know a little dramatic but can you blame me I have been obsessed with these crazy two-legged fluff balls since I could talk. Yes, I am that crazy chicken lady! While other girls wanted ponies for birthdays and holidays I was asked for my very own little flock. I had to wait a miserable 7 years of life before I was able to squish my very own little fluff balls but this is where my love affair started. Almost 20 years into this “thing” and I can say chickens shaped my life in many aspects. Without these manic creatures, I would not have join 4-H, studied Agi(Animal science)in college, live in the house I do, or made so many amazing friends over the years.
